Josephine Chia

Josephine Chia, 58, is a Peranakan or Straits Chinese. She was born and raised in a Malay, attap-thatched shanty village or kampong <> in colonial Singapore. She came to England, UK in 1985. Interestingly, even though she was initially prevented from going to school, she dreamt of becoming a writer - writing books in English, which was not her first nor second language.
The dire poverty she experienced as a child in colonial Singapore in the 1950s triggered her quest to understand the meaning and purpose of life. Her search had taken her through various religions and philosophies, yoga and holism. She believes in sharing her continuing journey in her books so that others can avoid her pitfalls and take on board what is useful. But always, she wishes to convey the happiness of living close to Source or The Divine to her readers so that they too can live in joy.
