Patrick Howe

At the age of 15, Patrick Howe had his first one-man show in the lobby of Oregon Savings Bank, in Portland, Oregon. In 1974 he graduated from Pacific Northwest College of Art and went on to to show his artwork throughout the region. He was eventually employed by the Portland Art Museum to be the museum’s Head Preparator which involved installing exhibitions in over twenty museum galleries, giving him an intimate knowledge of many of the world’s most famous works of art.

After moving to Colorado in 1980, he was selected by the Colorado Council on the Arts and Humanities to tour the state with other leading artists to show and demonstrate his artistry. He has exhibited his work in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, and California, including a group show at the Portland Art Museum, in Oregon, and a one man show at Loveland Art Museum, in Colorado.

Howe was also a contributing writer to the well-regarded science newsletter Brain/Mind Bulletin which was published by bestselling author, Marilyn Ferguson who wrote The Aquarian Conspiracy. Howe contributed articles about arts related conferences and events occurring in the US. Marilyn was also an avid collector of Howe’s artwork.

Additionally, Patrick is an award-winning graphic designer, and creative director who has produced branding, logos, calligraphy, and illustrations for Fortune 500 companies including Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, Nintendo, Weyerhaeuser, Boeing, Eddie Bauer, REI, and Princess Tours.

In 2004 he opened Patrick Howe Gallery, in Seattle, Washington, where he shows his artwork, teaches painting, and writes about art. In 2006 his painting instruction book “Dramatic Light” was published by North Light Books.
