  • The author says: My intention in this booklet is to introduce the reader to a straightforward, Bible-based, down-to-earth, and very practical way of entering into the prayer of stillness or contemplative prayer. I am keen that you should try it out, to DO it, not just read about it. So theory and technique are barely mentioned, and all you need is a chair and a Bible and some moments of quiet.

For those who feel drawn to this way of praying, suggestions are given for further reading material and for contact with a contemplative prayer organisation. Although written with beginners mainly in mind, those already practised in silent prayer will find some useful resource material in this book.
